Layered drinks look impressive, but the idea is simple: liquids with more sugar are heavier and sink, while lighter liquids float on top.
What you need
- A tall clear glass
- Crushed fruit or syrup for the base
- Cold milk
- Matcha, tea or cold coffee for the top layer
- Plenty of ice
Steps
1. Base. Spoon crushed strawberries or syrup into the glass. This is the heaviest layer.
2. Ice. Fill the glass with ice. It acts as a cushion for the next pours.
3. Milk. Pour cold milk slowly over the ice until about two thirds full.
4. Top. Hold a spoon just above the milk, back side up, and pour your matcha slowly over it.
Slow hands make clean layers.
Give it a photo, then stir and enjoy. If you would rather skip the practice, we have it ready-made in the shop.
